The Freight village Toscano A. Vespucci is located in Guasticce, in the municipality of Collesalvetti in the centre of northern Tuscany. The Tuscan freight village is pivotal in the North South connection. - The Milan-Bologna-Florence-Rome and the Pisa-Florence link.
With regard to the airport and port systems, the freight village has strategic connections for Tuscany; the various ports have distinct but complementary characteristics that combine to satisfy the Tuscan market:
- Marina di Carrara (for the transportation of stone)
- Viareggio (with its shipyards and maritime supplies)
- Piombino (for its steelworks and various goods)
- Livorno (container, bulk and coasting traffic,)
Thanks to its strategic location the Interporto A. Vespucci is pivotal for the Tuscan Coastline and its local markets and industries exploiting the excellent infrastructures running from Livorno, Pisa, Lucca e Massa Carrara.
