Intermodality acquires new service in Livorno

ntermodality in logistics refers to the efficient integration of different means of transport to optimise the flow of goods and the environmental impact of logistics itself.

The operation, carried out by Trans Italia SpA in partnership with LOGTAINER SRL, foresees the departure on 8 May 2024 of the first train of 24 Casse-Trailers from Livorno with destination Padua. At the same time, a train from Padua will arrive at Interporto on the 9th, improving connectivity and transport fluidity. A project that takes 24 trucks off the road with a distance of 7,056 km and 6,624 kgCO2, bringing transport by train with emissions of 1,848 kgCO2. We are therefore talking about a 72.10% reduction in emissions and a reduction of heavy traffic on the motorways. Thanks to the initiative of Trans Italia SpA, a company that recently settled in Interporto Vespucci, Intermodality acquires a new service in Livorno.
