We handle your freight at temperatures between -30° C and +15° C

Already at an advanced stage of realisation and partly operational, the project envisages the establishment of an important service centre for fresh and frozen goods, the largest in central Italy, strategically located in the dry port area of the Port of Livorno, a few kilometres from Pisa Airport and directly connected to the main arterial roads.

Flexibility and Innovation

Within the Cold Village area, all operations in the freight logistics sector are optimally handled thanks to an entire series of operability functions being grouped therein, including:

  • Operability for customs procedures for non-Schengen freight
  • Operability in the Italian system
  • Operability as a VAT warehouse
  • Operability as a Transit Point for the large-scale retail trade
  • Operability as a Designated Entry Point
  • Fast customs clearance facilities thanks to a connection with a dedicated customs Fast Corridor connecting to the Port of Livorno docks

The Potential of the Retro Porto for the Cold Chain

The only project like it in all the Mediterranean, this will be a service structure of reference for the major fruit companies that will benefit from its completion to then divert important trans-oceanic traffic currently handled abroad or split between various national maritime ports to the Port of Livorno, offering:

  • 7.500 m² of warehouses with cold rooms for refrigerated freight | from 0° to 14°C

  • 2.000 m² of warehouses for frozen freight | down to -30°

  • 3.000 m² of warehousing with air-conditioned rooms for ripening and processing fruit (bananas)

  • 1.000 m² dedicated to import control, customs clearances and visits
